Eleanor Cho is a Korean American filmmaker, writer, and graduate of the USC School of Cinematic Arts. Her work explores themes of human connection, resilience, and loss through the lens of magical realism in the thriller and dark fantasy genre.
Her award-winning short films have screened at film festivals around the world such as the Transatlantyk Film Festival in Poland, LA Asian Pacific Film Festival, Cleveland International Film Festival, Boston Asian American Film Festival, NFFTY and more.
She worked as a Writers’ PA at HBO (THE NEVERS), as an Assistant Editor at Beyoncé’s Parkwood Entertainment (RENAISSANCE), and is currently working for Angela Kang (THE WALKING DEAD). She is part of Creative Visions’ Women Excel Project, Visual Communications’ Armed with a Camera Fellowship, and a finalist for the ABC Women’s Production Initiative, NBC Writers on the Verge, Hillman Grad Rising Voices, and the Makazan Films Directing Program for HBO.
She was a part of the 2021 Werner Herzog Film Accelerator in the Canary Islands where she made a short film under Werner Herzog’s guidance. She also won the Ghetto Film School (GFS) x Dolby Institute “Finish the Script” competition, where she wrote and directed a short film while being mentored by Academy Award-nominated director, Carlos López Estrada (Raya and the Last Dragon). She was recently mentored by Academy Award-nominated director, Bing Liu (Minding the Gap) through Sophia Chang’s Unlock Her Potential program.
She is currently part of the Writers Guild Foundation Writers’ Access Support Staff Training Program.
